Below is what I wrote to a friend who is co-BJP sympathizer. It was the morning when Jaswant Singh was expelled days after his book launch and just before the chintan bhaitak started.

What the bjp has done today is unpardonable. We cannot have someone writing a book expressing his or her personal opinion be expelled from a party. If the congress is all about one family, bjp seems to be all about one idea or ideology. They are being more autocratic than the Congress.
As friends and sympathizers of the BJP we have to take this issue up strongly. In due course they have started losing their support base because they are being seen more as a party with no difference. No longer perceived as honest and trustworthy.
I think they have lost it.
