The IT system is either not changed because it is too difficult or people go in for massive redesigns – only to swear for years afterwards that they will never touch it again. Enables services to get broken down into sub-services and you rent the best sub-services from many vendors rather just one service from one vendor. Now here is a technology [web services] that can get you away from monolithic thinking. It enables you to be much more experimental and flexible. Processes can evolve over time.
