Digital Korea

I visited Korea after nearly one year. This time they had a notebook in my room with broadband, an experience comparable to the office lan. In my email download there was a 6MB file, not a problem. Korea has 10 million broadband connections at home and another 4 million wireless internet users. South Korea’s Ministry of Information and Communication announced a new plan to deliver Internet connections of at least 1 Mbps and preferably 20 Mbps to every household by 2005. One of my colleagues has VDSL at home and claims to get 20-40 Mbps performance. He could very much get into the data center business at home.
