When Google first came into prominence 3 years ago, typical comment was, great search engine no business model, everyone predicted their demise in a couple of years. It is today 3 times more profitable than Ebay was at the same age, 3 1/2 years after both were founded. At 1800 searches per second, 150 million searches a day in 74 languages executed from 10,000 servers in 5 data-centers across the U.S…… Company Employees, 15% of whom are Ph.D.s are served no wimpy sugar water, only health drinks and a lunchroom that serves food cooked by the former chef of the greatful dead.
